In somewhat of a stunning annoucement Home Depot's CEO Bob Nardelli resigned today.
This announcement was contrary to his recent comments of having long term plans with Home Depot, however it is not totally surprising. Home Depot's stock has been relatively flat for several years now and Mr. Nardelli's compensation has been considered by many to be extremely rich.
Under Mr. Nardelli's watch Home Depot has seen large profits and extensive operations improvements, however investors have not prospered from this success.
Mr. Nardelli is being replaced immediately by Frank Blake, Home Depot's current vice chairman.
